The Fear Is Beautiful

Dear Unconditional Love - What can you tell me about how things are going for you and Hopey right now?

Hey there, love? Can you hear us giggling? We are so tickled that the sun is out today. Have you seen the sun? No, that's ok. Let me tell you about the warm embrace up here.

What? You think we’re all over the world to see all of the seasons? Nah. We prefer the warmth of the sun and the green grass. All we can see is beauty up here. It’s not that snow isn’t beautiful, it’s that it’s other people’s idea of pretty but we are YOURS. And the sun is where you’re meant to be, so it’s where we are.

We are having so much fun up here and we know there is a reason there is a portal between us that we can’t cross back to. And by we, yes, I mean her. I have an overarching presence that transcends portals but that’s only because it’s my role to connect you to all the love you’ve ever had. And I’m so happy to be here doing that for you.

I can tell you that Hopey and her perfectly beautiful little soul are just fine. She is wondering why you don’t want to paint. “Is it the crying thing, Mommy?” I know you want to be past that. That makes sense. It’s ok to cry or not. We’re here to shed any tears you don’t want to. Oh, now you thought I meant that we only see beautiful things which means we don't have room or compassion for sadness? Well that would mean that sadness isn't beautiful and that just isn't true.

How do you think you have a gift of SEEING people? It’s because you're not afraid to see things that aren't in a pretty box with a perfect bow. That’s what empathy is, that’s what you are.

We’re here, babe. Lean into the nuance, know that all emotions are beautiful and there is no perfect box you and your feelings have to be in for the next couple days, or ever. We will be here either way and you are not dishonoring either one of us by not engaging with any or all or none of them, because that's up to you, honey.

We love you. Water please. And go lay down =)

PS I feel you wondering if you should write to Hopey. She would love to hear from you, but only if you’re up for it. Take all the time and space you need. But don’t wait until you’re not afraid, that fear is beautiful too.
